label me

single minds

that way because

of closing doors

in front this time

they claim their sky

the clouds pass by

to see them all

with judging eye

the labels name

pressed on a can

not over me

you closed mind man

  6. I share your sentiment, Ed! We are targets of many a label, many a time.. and then there are times when we label… I only hope the latter doesn;t occur too often..

A great message in this poem, my friend.. awesome!

    Labeled as lovely πŸ™‚

  8. Amen! Love the flow, love the rhyme, love the sentiment behind this piece! I’ve been labeled and labeled myself. Going through life with a closed mind is no way to live. I especially love the lines:
    “not over me
    you closed mind man”

  9. Excellent poem…thank you for sharing.

  10. Greetings:

  11. So quick and smart. I loved the end. It made me smile. So witty, calling it what it is, a closed mind man. Let that person be closed, like the can, not you! (Though I know it could be anyone, even me, at times, being closed-minded about different people and things, which is part of why the poem is so relevant and strong)..
