that way because
of closing doors
in front this time
they claim their sky
the clouds pass by
to see them all
with judging eye
the labels name
pressed on a can
not over me
you closed mind man

Ditto that. Nicely poemed.
Welcome to Thursday Poets Rally!
Thank you so much Jamie!
You got my respect! Not label-ED 🙂
Thank you for reading. Label me was whipped up in a minute and not really one of my favorites, but I’m glad it’s getting “play.” : )
Good sentiment. We are, many of us, too libel to label.
Thank you Mary!
Glad that you come in,
make 18 comments from our list by next Wednesday …
lovely blog, delicious poetry, we enjoy your work.
I share your sentiment, Ed! We are targets of many a label, many a time.. and then there are times when we label… I only hope the latter doesn;t occur too often..
A great message in this poem, my friend.. awesome!
Thanks for reading Kavita. Love your style on your blog!
Labeled as lovely 🙂
Thank you Ina!
Amen! Love the flow, love the rhyme, love the sentiment behind this piece! I’ve been labeled and labeled myself. Going through life with a closed mind is no way to live. I especially love the lines:
“not over me
you closed mind man”
Thank you very much for the feedback!
Love this! Well put!
Thanks for checking it out Sue!
Excellent poem…thank you for sharing.
thanks David! I really need to revisit my attempts at poetry though. I believe they’re a little thin.
Hope all is well.
Noting that you have been part of poets rally in the year of 2011,
what an achievement, thanks for your outstanding contribution to us
along the way, keep up the excellence. Best!
Come join our poetry rally today if you wish to mingle and get inspired!
A poem of your choice or a free verse is accepted.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Looking forward to seeing you share.
Respect and hugs.
So quick and smart. I loved the end. It made me smile. So witty, calling it what it is, a closed mind man. Let that person be closed, like the can, not you! (Though I know it could be anyone, even me, at times, being closed-minded about different people and things, which is part of why the poem is so relevant and strong)..
